Happy Friday #Yugen Community!!!
Welcome to the start of CARICOM Energy Month! November is the official month of recognizing the work that the Caribbean Community does in order to spearhead the region in the direction of building greater resilience to climate change and enhancing our sustainability. As a region that has been highly dependent on energy imports, I think this is a great initiative.
CARICOM Energy Month is currently hosted by CARICOM Energy (yes who would have thought lol), an organization under the direction of the CARICOM Secretariat. CARICOM Energy is in charge of coordinating regional energy policy and managing the direction in which states move to become more sustainable in energy generation. For this reason, I think CARICOM Energy is also a great source of public information for budding scientists, environmentalists, researchers, policy analysts and all citizens of CARICOM in understanding what needs to be done in the region in terms of energy policy.
To commemorate this month, CARICOM Energy is hosting several virtual events such as the CARICOM Youth Energy Forum! This forum is designed to teach young persons about the many sustainable energy projects in the region and much more! This event takes place on Friday 13th November 2020.
