Hey #YugenCommunity and welcome to this week’s forum! How’s everyone doing today?
Our discussion today comes on the heels of yesterday’s blog post done by Stefanie, which looked at the impacts that this current pandemic has had on the environment thus far. Did you check out yesterday’s blog post? If you didn’t you should definitely check it out, I added the link below :)

Based on yesterday’s blog post, as well as other global articles and think-pieces based on Covid-19’s environmental impacts, one thing is apparent; that this pandemic has created a silver lining for the environment.
Levels of environmental pollution worldwide have significantly decreased - a factor which has been largely attributed to the reduction in the various means of international travel, by land, air, and sea, due to the implementation of lockdown measures in numerous countries. The use of private and public transport services to move within country borders has also occurred.
Personally, I am grateful for these measures as it is giving the Earth an opportunity to heal itself through the reduction of multiple forms of pollution and I hope that some of the measures implemented in Trinidad and Tobago, such as conducting meetings virtually via Zoom, will continue long after this pandemic is over.
So tell me, from your observation, what are some of the ways that this pandemic has impacted positively on the environment? Also, what measures do you hope will continue post-COVID-19?
Looking foward to your responses 😊

Hey Daniella!
U know I agree with u first of all when u said that the world is getting a chance to heal itself. It shows that we definitely still have time to make a change! I was absolutely mind blown by just after one month into quarantine an old turtle in the zoo that hasn't made baby is about 50 years gave birth in quietness and stillness of covid and that by inself is proof that we need to make a drastic change !
